26th March ,Tuesday : NASA releases the photos of powerful meteor which exploded above the clouds over the bering sea around 18th December 2018.The energy released in explosion was 173 kitons of energy which was almost 10 times of the atomic bomb energy which was exploded on Hiroshima in World war 2.
When meteor was 26km above Bering sea it exploded and the super heated air release turns the cloud to an orange tint
NASA estimates the time of occurring of meteor which was around 23:48 GMT.
The photograph of meteor was taken by NASA Terra satellite with two different instruments-the the Multi-angle Imaging SpectroRadiometer (MISR) and the Moderate Resolution Imaging SpectroRadiometer (MODIS).And the team members of MISR combined the images of meteor pics in gif and released by NASA on Friday(March 22).
The terra satellite was launched in 1999 and now managed by NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Centre
This meteor was the most powerful meteor after the meteor which exploded over the city Chelyabinsk(Russia) in 2013.The energy released in this explosion was 440 kilotons which injured about 1,500 peoples and mostly was injured from piece of glass which smashed out of window.
The first photograph of this event was taken by Japanese weather satellite and published this week
