The world cup of 1983 cricket was held In England and Wales from 9 to 25 June 1983 in which eight countries participated in the event. The world cup was won by team India. Officially world cup is called prudential cup 1983. The event showcased full of dramatic cricket throughout the tournament. The teams were grouped into two groups in which each team played with another team twice.

The matches consisted of 60 over’s per innings and played by red balls. The top two teams in each group advanced to the semifinal group and the winner further advancing to finals.
