We all feel it’s hard to sit around for 2 hours and complete a movie. But series on the other hand are flexible. Series gives us the freedom to choose when to watch the episode. I can either sit in one place and complete the whole season of 7/8 episodes in one go or take an eternity to complete one single episode…Hey, it’s up to me okay!

On a more serious note series build up suspense, it keeps us longing, some might say series have also taught them self control. The urge to click on “Next Episode”. To get you started on that self-control thing… here are 7 new TV shows you must watch.

1. RUDRA: THE EDGE OF DARKNESS

We never thought actors would turn to TV shows and OTT platforms but they did and that just means more good things to watch for us. Ajay Devgn made his place on streaming platforms with his action, thriller series. We all loved him as a police officer in Singham and its other sequels. In this series, we see Ajay Devgn as DCP Rudraveer Singh “Rudra” of the special forces.

The series is a must-watch because of its casting. We can see Atul Kulkarni as DCP Gautam and Rudra’s best friend, Ashwini Kalsekar as Jt. Commissioner Deepali Handa and Rudra’s boss. A word of appreciation for Raashi Khanna who plays Dr Aliyah Choksi a born genius. She is a constant help to Rudra during his hard times and also the root of his problems. But she does justice to her role. Season 1 was a total hit and more the reason for season 2.

2. MOON KNIGHT

It is already known that the year 2022 is the year for Marvel. Marvel fans were quite concerned about the fate of the avengers when their favourite heroes died or got old. But marvel has not lost a single one of its fans by keeping up its reputation. Moon Knight is a new addition to the franchise.

Oscar Isaac who plays the Moon Knight has done an absolutely amazing job. He plays the character Steve Grant as well as the character Marc Spector. What’s interesting is that Steve is British while Marc is American. Oscar does justice to both his personalities. Be it the accent or their behaviour he has kept a distinct difference in them. The TV show is actually not fully released but its suspense is what keeps the fans glued.

3. PEAKY BLINDERS

Although this post contains TV shows that are newly added, a new season of peaky blinders has been added so the mention of that is a must. Peaky Blinders is a gangster drama located on the streets of Birmingham at the start of the 20s. The fictional gang is loosely based on a real urban youth gang of the same name that was active in the city from the 1880s to the 1910s.

The show is led by Cillian Murphy as Thomas Shelby the leader of the gang, followed by his two brothers Arthur Shelby and John Shelby played by Paul Anderson and Joe Cole. even though the leads are gangsters I must say we don’t feel bad about them killing people. That is the kind of effect the show has. One of the main female characters Polly Gray played by Helen McCrory was the soul of the show until she recently passed away last year. Overall the series is a must-see.

5. EUPHORIA

Euphoria has been this year’s highlight of almost every talk. The TV show shows a close look at the lives of teenagers. Multiple characters go through different things. The series does become a little chaotic at times. It is also advised for the watcher’s age and mental state as the series includes disturbing images, verbal abuses and sexual nudity. Certain viewers who might be sensitive to light are also advised accordingly.

The main character Rue played by Zendaya has done a wonderful work portraying the life of a drug addict. Other characters such as Rue’s friend Fezco played by Angus Cloud have done a great work doing justice to the character’s past and his behaviour.

6. ARYA

Arya is one of the strongest female roles I have ever seen. And there is no other who can portray it much better than Sushmita Sen herself. Her acting deserves a good amount of recognition and that’s why it’s on this list.

The story is about how a widowed mother tries to handle all the rivalries and also protect her children after her husband is tragically murdered. What makes the TV show best is Arya’s gradual change in her attitude. At the start, she is quite broken and burdened by the loss of her husband and all the threats coming her way. But as the series progresses the character grows strong and independent. We can see Arya’s fear as a mother of 3 and also her hatred towards her rivals. The series is full of mixed emotions and therefore is a must-see.
