What is the cast of the movie?
The movie starring Carey Mulligan and Ralph Fiennes in the central role. Carey Mulligan stars as Edith Pretty, a widow who finances a historical excavation on her property in 1939 Suffolk, England. Her first major appearance was playing Kitty Bennet in Pride & Prejudice. She received an Oscar nomination for Best Actress for the coming-of-age film “An Education.”
Ralph Fiennes plays Basil Brown, an amateur archaeologist who hires by Edith Pretty. He performs for excavation of the burial mounds of her estate. Fiennes received Oscar nominations for portraying Amon Goeth in Schindler’s List and Almásy in The English Patient. He appears as Lord Voldemort, in Harry Potter movie
Lily James plays Peggy Piggott, a married archaeologist who finds her happiness as lacks of romance in life. He spends time with Edith’s cousin. She known for her role in the period drama series Downton Abbey. Her first breakthrough film was the title role in Cinderella in 2015.
Ben Chaplin plays Stuart Piggott, an archaeologist who shows little romantic interest in his wife, Peggy. He known for his roles in The Thin Red Line, Cinderella, etc.
Ken Stott plays Charles Phillips, an archaeologist from the British Museum who tried to abolish Basil’s work. He more recently known for his role as the dwarf Balin in The Hobbit film trilogy.
The other supporting cast includes Johnny Flynn, Archie Barnes , Monica Dolan in the movie.
