Hell Camp: Teen Nightmare: Storyline

The documentary is about Steve Cartisano, the founder of the Challenger wilderness therapy program.

A former military special forces officer runs a 63-day program in which out-of-control teenagers are sent to a therapy camp located in the Utah desert. The condition of the camp is unbearable and the staff is even worse.

Parents send their children because they want their children should go on the right path in life. The camp also promises that the children they send after treatment are good in action.

The military type of training, and physical and mental torture they are giving to the children there are unbearable. Rules in the place are very strict and breaking them leads to a punishment that they never expect.

The outcomes of this $15, 900, 63 program are so good that even celebrities send their children there.

But the reality is something different. The kids who are part of this Challenger Foundation deeply explain the side effects of this program.

Fear, trust issues, broken relationships, and suspicion all became part of their lives. The reality of the place comes out after the death of 16-year-old girl Kristen Chase due to a headstroke during a hike.

Her death leads to the downfall of Steve Cartisano and the Challenger wilderness therapy program.
