HBO has released various popular series and documentaries in the pandemic year. Once again it is coming up with a brand new season of the top-rated drama, His Dark Materials.

The iconic series in its first season starts with the story of a young teenage girl named Lyra Belacqua, who travels in a world just like her own. Everyone there has an animal familiar known as daemons, which are a demonstration of the human soul.

Here, Lyra discovers various dangerous secrets related to her uncle. Various kidnapping events and their links to the mysterious substance known as “Dust”.

Philip Pullman’s novel adaption novel in its first season impresses the audience with its interesting storyline, chilling visuals, and effects. The second season of the series starts at the same point where the first season left.

His Dark Materials: Season 2

The second season of the series follows distraught Lyra, who enters a new mysterious world known as “city in the sky” seen from the Aurora called Cittagazze. It seems like an island of Korcula in Croatia, which sits next to a larger peninsula, but it’s different. The city is lacking adults.

Lyra meets another person Will parry in the ghostly world. She comes to know that Will traveled from the same world and belongs to the same city of Oxford but from different worlds.

Both move ahead and find the mystery of the place. In the journey, they come across the remaining children who told that the city is filled with ghostly figures known as spectres, which come out at night and suck the souls of the grown-ups.

Meanwhile, witches tasked Lee Scoresby to find Stanislaus Grumman, an explorer who seemingly died in the north.

The second season of the series has various dark twisted points that shock you. It explores different versions of reality and a top-level fight against the dark forces.

Who will be the cast in Season 2?

The new season of the series brings some new faces in the limelight such as Andrew Scott as Colonel John Parry, Jade Anouka as Ruta Skadi, Terence Stamp as Giacomo Paradisi, and Simone Kirby as Dr. Mary Malone.

Andrew Scott plays the guest role in season one. Now he is portraying the character of Colonel John Parry, an explorer, and Will’s father. In Lyra’s world, John recognized as Stanislaus Grumman. BAFTA Television Award winner actor known for his role of Jim Moriarty in the BBC series Sherlock and Priest role in the series Fleabag.

Simone Kirby as Mary Malone will also be a quieter new addition plays as physicist at a college in Oxford. She is finding answers related to dark matters and other mysterious and larger questions.

Jade Anouka known by the name of Ruta Skadi in the series. She appears as a strong warrior queen of the lake Lubana clan of witches.

Dafne Keen as Lyra Belacqua and Amir Wilson as Will Parry reprised their role in season 2. Dafne known for the role of Laura in the film Logan.

Anne-Marie Duff as Ma Costa, James Cosmo as Farder Coram, Ariyon Bakare as Lord Carlo Boreal, Daniel Frogson as Tony Costa, James McAvoy as Lord Asriel, Ariyon Bakare as Lord Carlo Boreal will also be part of season 2.
