Amazon Prime Video original series set in 2033, where people are uploaded into virtual reality hotels run by 6 tech firms. The series focuses on a coder Nathan Crown (Robbie Amell), who dies in a car crash. As he is close to his death, his wealthy girlfriend Ingrid Kannerman (Allegra Edwards) forced him to sign a document that consents his digital self to be uploaded into the afterlife. Here he comes in contact with Nora (Andy Allo), who works as a moderator of this digital environment.
Nathan in this world attends his own funeral and also realizes that his past life is not good. He also uncovers that wealth inequality looks like in the afterlife. His comfortable afterlife depends upon his partner money, which puts him in a position where he has almost no power. He sees what happens to people who die but don’t have the money to pay for niceties in this world.
The later episodes of the twisted series also reveal that Nathan’s death probably was not an accident after all.
