Famously known for his role as Captain Jack Sparrow in the movie Pirates of the Caribbean, Johnny Depp has testified against his ex-wife in court this Tuesday. Johnny Depp was married to the Aquaman actress amber heard from 2015 to 2017.
He has sued Heard over a Washington post. The actress wrote that she was a victim of domestic abuse. Although she has not actually named Depp in that post, Depp’s attorney has pressed charges against her. The allegations have had a negative impact on Johnny’s personal and professional life.
What was the reply?
Over the years of the trial amber heard has passed many allegations some of which were quite harsh. Her attorney Elaine Bredehoft claimed that Johnny Depp sexually assaulted her with a liquor bottle.
“Some pretty horrendous things happened to [Heard]… he rips off her nightgown, he has her jammed up against a bar… he penetrates her with a liquor bottle,” Bredehoft said.
It was quite obvious that after such allegations Johnny Depp’s public image was a bit shaken. In Tuesday’s trial, he has denied any such accusations.
“About six years ago, Ms Heard … brought these disturbing criminal acts against me that were not based in any species of truth,” Depp said. “It was a complete shock. It just didn’t need to go in that direction.”
In another comment, Johnny Depp also referred to Amber Heard as cinderella.”It has been six years of trying times,” Depp testified. “It’s very strange when one day you’re a Cinderella, so to speak, then in 0.6 seconds, you’re Quasimodo. I didn’t deserve that, nor did my children, nor did the people who believed in me all these years.”
Depp has sued Heard for $50 million over the Washington Post. Although the conclusion is yet unclear the trial is to be continued.
