Toriyama also mentioned the Torishima wanted Goku to form a bond with Bulma, but this never implemented in the series. In the entire Dragon Ball metaseries, Goku is the main character. A running joke in the series during Goku’s childhood was that he couldn’t tell the difference between a man and a woman without touching them, which got him into a lot of trouble. Goku is depicted as having extreme trypanophobia, or a fear of medical needles, although this is only seen in the anime. In Dragon Ball Z, he expressed his fear for them twice, and three times in Dragon Ball GT.
It is seen in Dragon Ball GT when Goku, Pan, and Trunks took an injured boy to the universe’s Hospital Planet. Finally, after discovering from Pan that the four-star Dragon Ball was protruding from his forehead, Goku expressed his fear of needing a shot. Even in battle, Goku demonstrates that he is not invincible, as he has two big flaws. The second is his appetite; not only does he eat at a pace that would be almost impossible for a regular person. But he also becomes too frail to do almost anything if he goes without food.
On the other hand, Goku’s love of food has gotten him out of trouble on many occasions; for example, in the Tournament Saga, when Jackie Chun put him to sleep, Bulma was able to save his match by shouting to him that dinner was ready, to which Goku instantly awoke to break the count.
