An epic fantasy action series “Lord of the Rings” gets renewed for the second season by Amazon Prime Video. Inspired by the fantasy book series of the same name, written by J.R.R. Tolkein, the show is currently in pre-production in New Zealand.

While the whole plot of this Amazon new series is not revealed yet, but it is expected that it will be set in a second age, which is also known as the age of Numenor that lasted for 3441 years. This new age starts with the banishment of the Dark Lord Morgoth and ends with the decrement of Sauron’s army at the hands of an alliance of elves and men. 

The popular show’s second series is written by a well-known team of writers named JD Payne and Patrick McKay. Its multiple episodes are directed under the supervision of Jurassic World: the Fallen Kingdom, director J.A. Bayona.

Lord of the Rings Season 2: Cast

Although Amazon has not released any information about the cast of this upcoming show, it is confirmed that Black Mirror: Bandersnatch, best performance Will Poulter will play the leading role in this new series. Apart from him, the other name that came into limelight and plays the role of villain name Oren in the series is Joseph Mawle, best known for his performance in Game of thrones. The third person who plays the interesting role of Tyra is Markella Kavenagh, best known for Picnic at Hanging Rock film.

The show’s official twitter account shared a map along with the two messages: “One Ring to rule them all, One Ring to find them, One Ring to bring them all, and in the darkness bind them, In the Land of Mordor where the Shadows lie,” as well as “Welcome to the Second Age.”
