However, Netflix acquired the rights and turned it into a series.

Netflix’s new K-drama, Squid Game has enthralled audiences with its mix of social commentary, elevated amusement, and what-would-you-do moral quandaries. The hit show follows a group of people who are deeply in debt as they compete in a series of deadly children’s games for a literal fortune. Viewers are tearing through the fast-paced nine episodes. In this American horror film, fifty strangers are kidnapped and placed in a high-tech execution chamber. Furthermore, where they must decide which of them deserves to live. Takashi Miike directed As the Gods Will in 2014. It’s based on Muneyuki Kaneshiro and Akeji Fujimura’s eponymous manga series’ first arc. A group of high school students is subject to a series of tests devised by “gods,” giant animated versions of popular Japanese dolls that kill without mercy. Based on the trailer, this horror film could be even bloodier than Netflix’s smash hit.

Alice in Borderland is a 2020 Japanese sci-fi suspense-thriller drama streaming television series based on Haro Aso’s manga of the same name. This Japanese sci-fi series has to compare to Squid Game. However, instead of competing for money, the contestants compete for survival. Three boys are suddenly transported into an alternate Tokyo, an arena where they must play deadly games to load their individual “visas,” or else they will be executed while hiding from cops near Shibuya Crossing. The games themselves are classified by playing cards, with Spades representing strength, Clubs representing team battles, Diamonds representing battles of wits, and Hearts representing games of betrayal.
