The story of the movie shows the time of 1943 when Leonard age is 25 and is an assistant conductor to the New York Philharmonic.

Leonard first met his wife Felicia, an aspiring actor, at a party thrown by one of their friends. After the first meeting, both of them started liking each other and meetings increased more.

Soon they start dating each other and get married after a certain period. Leonard and Felicia become parents of three beautiful children Jamie, Alexander, and Nina.

Leonard achieved a great height of success in the mid-1950s. He successfully composed various operas and Broadway musicals. They start living a high-profile life, host lavish parties, and become a known public face.

But every good thing has certain bad things lying inside it. Felicia is concerned about his husband’s homosexual tendencies and later on he starts taking alcohol and substance abuse.

This all ruined their relationship with each other and also affected their children’s lives. Later in 1978, Felicia died due to lung cancer and Leonard remained alone.
