As we all know this year happens to be marvel’s year. After the Endgame Marvel has tried to expand its reach by including superheroes of different cultures starting from the Eternals. And now Bollywood actor Farhan Akhtar has announced his arrival in the MCU.
Who is Ms Marvel?
Ms Marvel is an upcoming television series based on the character Kamala Khan/Ms Marvel in the marvel comics. Although the plot of the series is not yet confirmed, the casting details are confirmed. Moreover, Ms Marvel will be Marvel’s first Muslim superhero. However, according to the comics Kamala khan (Iman Vellani) is a fangirl of the Avengers, just like us! Mainly she adores Captain Marvel/Carol Denvers. Just like any other kid Kamala also dreams of having superpowers. But good for her she actually gets them!
This will be the seventh series of the MCU so far. the series will also act as a set-up for the film The Marvels which is scheduled to release in 2023. Along with Iman, Matt Lintz, Yasmeen Fletcher, Zenobia Shroff and Mohan Kapur will also play a role in the series.
What is Farhan Akhtar’s role in the movie?
As stated earlier, Marvel has expanded its reach to a great extent. And it absolutely makes sense to include Bollywood actors in it. One of the actors is Farhan Akhtar.
This will be a first Hollywood project for the ‘Dil Dhadakne Do’ actor and director Farhan Akhtar. Although what role he will be playing the MCU is still hidden, what we know for sure that he is a part of it.
The actor shared on his Instagram account and made it an official news. He captioned, “Grateful that universe gifts these opportunities to grow, learn and in this case have a ton of fun while doing it”
Farhan Akhtar’s wife Shivani Dandekar also shared the same post and expressed her gratitude. “THIS!!! Can’t wait for this one!! First mainstream leading Indian actor to be part of the Marvel Universe! Beyond proud of you”
Currently Farhan Akhtar is directing the movie ‘Jee Le Zara’ along with Katrina Kaif, Alia Bhatt and Priyanka Chopra.
Khoobsurat actor Fawad Khan also confirmed involvement in the upcoming series. Although the details of the role are not yet confirmed.
The series will be released on Hotstar on 8th June 2022.
