Society of the Snow: Plot
Based on the true Uruguayan 1972 flight disaster, Society of the Snow is the adaptation of Pablo Vierci’s book of the same name.
The movie’s story focuses on the Christian rugby team who are going to Chile for a match, with their friends and relatives.
The team and others board the Uruguayan Air Force flight 571 from Uruguayan. All are enjoying the flight.
Suddenly, flight catastrophically crashes on the glacier in the heart of the Andes. Out of 45 passengers, only 29 survived and they found themselves in a place that was covered with snow. It is one of the toughest environments and extreme conditions that they face to survive.
Along with heavy snow storms, and avalanches, the worst thing that happened to them was starvation and to overcome it they were compulsive to eat the flesh of the people who died.
The movie unfolds various untold stories from the mouths of the survivors. It covers all the problems and struggles in the fight for survival.

It theatrically released in Uruguay on December 13, 2023, and in Spain on December 15, 2023.
