Stranger than Fiction is the story of a lonely Internet Revenue Service agent Harold Crick (Will Ferrell) who depends on his wristwatch to lives his life.
One day, Harold starts hearing the voice of a woman who is narrating his life and told him that an innocuous act would result in his imminent death. He is unable to communicate with it. His wristwatch has stopped working and resets the time, the voice narrates.
Harold consults a psychiatrist and literature professor about the incident. On the suggestion of the professor, he spent some time at home to change destiny but nothing happened. Then the professor advised him to enjoy the time, he has left.
Harold takes a holiday from his job and spends some time in fulfilling his dreams. When he returned from his vacation, he identifies the voice as author Karen Eiffel’s voice, whose books feature the main character’s tragic death.
Harold meets Karen and reads his book that has result in his death. Karen told the death she has written for him is beautiful. He accepts it and ready for his death.
As his watch is three minutes fast owing to the precise time, given week earlier, Harold reaches the bus stop. Here he saw a boy who falls in front of the oncoming bus. Harold protects the child but stuck by the bus.
He opens the eyes in the hospital, he is alive. His wristwatch saved his life. Karen’s story is about a man who dies unexpectedly but Harold saves a child life so he is alive.
