The game is a free-to-play and upcoming first-person shooter Battle Royale game. It is developed by Ubisoft Montreal and published by Ubisoft for Microsoft Windows, Xbox One as well as PlayStation 4.

According to the creative director Jean-Christophe Guyot the game is all about blurring the line between the player and the spectator. It focuses on offering a sense of meaningful interaction between the two. Through this game, they wanted to create a whole sort of notion. The notion being a place where players as well as the streamers and viewers can come together to interact in new ways. And this on a large level was the basis of a starting point for the game, to create a platform for meaningful yet engaging interaction.
