After the most interesting and best HBO series “Game of Thrones”, Netflix coming up with a new fantasy television series “The Witcher”. With supernatural element and fictitious setting, this new series looks like another version of the Game of Thrones series.
It is an eight episodes series that is based on the novel, written by a Polish writer Andrzej Sapkowski about Geralt of Rivia and a monster hunter with supernatural power.
The new series will lead by Lauren Schmidt Hissrich, the creator of popular series the Defenders, the West Wing; daredevil, along with best director’s team that includes Alik Sakharov (Games of Thrones), Charlotte Brandstrom (Outlander), Alex Garcia Lopez (Utopia) and Marc Jobst (The Punisher).
The Witcher: Release Date
Official no dates are announced by Netflix yet. But as per, a deleted Facebook post from Netflix official Facebook account, it is expected that the action series will be premiere on Netflix from December 17, 2019.
Henry Cavill and Lauren shared posts on their social media accounts that confirm the cast and crew have wrapped the shooting of the series earlier this year and the series will be released on Netflix in autumn 2019.
What will happen in the series?
Netflix new series is an adaptation of the Andrzej Sapkowski novel “The Witcher”. It shows the story of an unconventional family who comes together to fight for the truth in a dangerous and fantasy world.
The Witcher focuses on Geralt of Rivia, a solitary monster hunter, who fights to find his position in a world where people are more dangerous and wicked than beasts, a Ciri and unnamed sorceress take on a monstrous world. It shows when destiny pushes Rivia towards a powerful sorceress and a young princess with the secret, the three of them must learn to navigate the increasingly volatile continent together.

According to the Netflix first poster and teaser trailer, Henry Cavill led the team by playing a powerful role of Geralt of Rivia.
He is joined by Freya Allan (Ciri), princess of Cintra, Bjorn Hlynur Haraldsson as King of Tuirseach, Anya Chalotra as Yennefer of Vengerberg, Jodhi May as Queen Calanthe, Adam Levy as Tissaia de Vries and Mimi Ndiweni as Fringilla Vigo.
