18. The Irishman

Epic movie of 2019 “The Irishman” is an adaptation of Charles Bandit, 2004 novel “I Heard You Paint Houses”. Created by Martin Scorsese, this crime drama is an emotional, violent and dryly funny biography of Frank Sheeran, a World War II combat veteran who later on becomes a Mafia gang hitman and a union leader.

It is a perfect intersection of crime and politics. It covers various points such as mafia history and Washington history, touching Castro’s rise in Cuba, the CIA’s attempts, John F. Kennedy’s assassination and the mob wars of the 1960s and 1970s.

17. Unbelievable

2019 horrified but true event-based miniseries “Unbelievable” shows the story of a shocking crime and stunning miscarriage of justice happened with a teenage girl of 18 years name Marie.

The series covers various points such as how a rape survivor is charged with lying after having been raped and how the two detectives follow twisted paths to find out the truth behind the case that linked with various cases.
