India is one of the most famous countries due to her unique spices; their spices are considered as the best in the world.

One of these famous spices is “Bhut jolokis”, it also has many different names but the most known one is “Ghost pepper”.
This pepper is cultivated in the Nagaland and Assam region of northeastern India and parts of neighboring Bangladesh.
“Ghost pepper” was given this interesting name as People said about its taste are that it sneaks to the one who is eating it.
The first flavor is an intense sweet chili flavor, and then it takes around 30 to 60 seconds for the heat to appear. Once it sneaks in, expect sweating, watery eyes, hiccups and shortness of breath. The burning intensifies over 10 – 15 minutes and subsides after 30 – 40 minutes.
You should be careful while handling this kind of pepper whether you are handling the fruit or the seed as it may burn your hand even while wearing latex!
This chili is the hottest pepper in the world, even more than Tabasco sauce as Guinness world record certified it in 2007.
The famous pepper “Bhut jolokia” is used as a food and spices, Indians use it to heat up curries, pickles and many other things.

The scientists at India’s Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) found that the ghost pepper can be used as a safety device.
It can be used if making self-defense sprays for women or children in order to protect them from any kind of sudden attack by spraying it in the eyes of the attackers.
People who are interested in spicy food shouldn’t give this pepper a try and that’s a real warning from the people who tried it !!!!
