In the afternoon, a large number of celebrants converge to snag prime viewing positions. The viewing places are open to the public on a first-come, first-served basis. So, if you want to have a clear view of the event, you might want to reach there as early as possible.
The Times Square ball drop can easily be watched along Broadway, from 43rd Street to 50th Street. You could also view it along Seventh Avenue as far north as 59th Street. Anyone with physical impairments can go to 44th Street and Sixth Avenue from where they can enter to an area at 44th Street and Broadway. This area has been specially reserved for those with disabilities.

TimesSquareNYC.org will be hosting a live stream of the glittering Times Square Ball Drop starting at 6 p.m. ET. The online streaming will last for six and a half hours. There will also be no commercial during the online live streaming which makes it one of the best ways of witnessing the new year’s eve special celebration.

Which TV networks will broadcast the glittering ball drop?
If you cannot witness the Times Square Ball Drop in person, there is nothing to worry about. Quite a number of TV networks will also broadcast live New Year’s Eve specials from Times Square. So, you can enjoy the ball drop as you welcome the upcoming year from the comfort of your home.
ABC’s “Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve” will be broadcasting the special event this year again. Ryan Seacrest will be hosting the show. The show will air at 8 p.m.
CNN will also be broadcasting the Times Square Ball Drop. Anderson Cooper and Andy Cohen will host CNN’s event, which will also start at 8 p.m.
